Added to the list. I already think of you when I hear Harry, but on the course that will be an extra boost. Thank you!

Dear Pen Pal,

Congratulations on the twenty-mile run!

Re: "[I]n it I can see my own internal and external strength so clearly." Sing it, sister! Remember this photo on race day. Everything you need is already inside.

Re: Salty weak sauce. UCSF's PT facility may have dented the dignity, but nothing can sour your sense of humor! Love it! (Un?)related: Distance runners do not get default buff?! I am second-guessing my choice of sport...

Best wishes with the exercises! I'm curious: Does your PT recommend doing anything differently, PT-exercise-wise, for race week? Asking for a friend's formerly fried right quad.

Re: Taper. It is cool to see you tackle the taper after deliberate pause, bring in knowledge about your training and yourself, and set a flexible plan. Go get it.

Re: Songs. Disclosure: My qualifications as run-song recommender are doubly dubious, as I don't run with music, and my knowledge of top tunes ends in the '60s (that is, the 1660s). Having warned you, I propose "We are never ever getting back together" by Taylor Swift (aptly conveys how my body feels, about marathoning and itself, after some races---but the tune is so upbeat!) and "New York City" by They Might Be Giants (aptly conveys the state of NYC on Marathon Day---when millions of New Yorkers wake up early to cheer on tourists who are clogging their streets---and also upbeat!).

Carry on!

"Everything you need is already inside." << swoon

I am definitely going to ask my PT to take it easy on my race week. That would be a major bummer to have my taper go south because I am sore from the thing designed to help me feel good.

Thanks for the song selections! Will add to the list.
